Question 33 – Is it perfect?

Deuteronomy 32:4 NKJV - "He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He."

Romans 9:13 NKJV - "As it is written, "Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated."

Revelation 14:11 NKJV - "And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name."

Mark 16:16 NKJV - ""He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned."

Answer:

                Jacob lived his life with fear of God whereas Esau did not know the Lord God and forgot Him. Jacob constructed the altars for the Lord God in the places where he moved and offered the sacrifices. Not only that, he kept the divine love in heart and spent his life in God-fearing.

                He could get the blessing of his father, which Esau ought to get, by the instigation of his mother in his child hood. Likewise, he was entangled in the clutches of the cheating of his father-in-law, because he loved Rachel. He worked for his father-in-law as the male servant since (7+7) 14 years. He did not tolerate the wicked nature of his father-in-law. So the circumstance forced him to cheat his father-in-law. But, Jacob himself was not a cheater. He is a good person in the view of the Lord God.

                Esau the brother of Jacob became a rich man by earning the cattle and servants. But, there was no divine fear and obedience in him, in his children, and in his family. The dynasty of Esau grew up as the elders and got the fame as the rich men, rulers, and kings like their forefather Esau. Herod Edhomite in the period of the New Testament was also one among the off spring of Esau. Esau and his dynasty did not have the divine fear in their life time. Even then the Lord God did not bring the harm to them.

                But, Jacob and his son Joseph stood in the test of the Lord and in the temptation of the Satan. Even though they were tested and tempted in many ways, they did not leave the Lord God in their hard-ships; and they did not forget the Lord. For this reason only, it so happened that the Lord God loved Jacob and hated Esau.
