Exodus 20:4 NKJV - "You shall not make for
yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above,
or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;"
Exodus 25:18 NKJV -
"And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work you
shall make them at the two ends of the mercy seat."
Answer:
The people encourage the architecture to the marriage
halls, the house of rich men, guest houses, etc., to make them fascinating. The
handcraft man can prepare the designs with their skill work. These days, we are
encouraging the cartoons and paintings on the walls. There are people, who
prepare the playing articles of the children beautifully.
Here, the Lord God said to make the cherubim with
gold as the craftsman work. He did not say that these cherubim are the gods or to
worship by prostrating before them. So, it is not idol worship.
Here, the Israelites did not worship the cherubim or offered
sacrifices to them.
They did every deed in the name of Jehovah.
Architecture, paintings, cartoons, etc., are to attract the people only, but He
did not say to imagine that these are the gods and goddesses and worship them.
