Question 37 - Where was Jesus Christ after the crucifixion?

Luke 23:43 NKJV - And Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise."

John 20:17 NKJV - Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, 'I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.'”

Answer:

                The Paradise is different. The heaven is different. It is written in 2 Corinthians12:3-4 that the place, in which the souls are safe guarded, is the paradise. The heaven is the abode of the Lord and His angles. The Lord Jesus Christ went to the place of Holy ones who left their bodies already, but not gone to the heaven. The entry of heaven to the spirits will happen only after the judgment of the Lord. Until this period, the spirits of the Holy ones get training that is needed to them to the entry of heaven in the Paradise.

                The thief, who was crucified on the right of side Jesus, was caught up into Paradise for training, because his complete life was indulged in the sin and trespasses. So, He cannot live in the illuminated divine proximity or in the kingdom of spirits without training him.

                So, the Lord, Christ went up to the Paradise along with thief, who was crucified at the right side of Him. Thereafter, He got resurrection in glory from the grave.
