Question 33 - “I kept myself from my iniquity”, means to do the sins and transgressions?

2 Samuel 22:22-24 NKJV - "For I have kept the ways of the LORD, And have not wickedly departed from my God. For all His judgments were before me; And as for His statutes, I did not depart from them. I was also blameless before Him, And I kept myself from my iniquity."  - Also Psalm 18:21-23
1 Kings 15:5 NKJV - "because David did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, and had not turned aside from anything that He commanded him all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.".
Psalm 25:7 NKJV - "Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; According to Your mercy remember me, For Your goodness' sake, O LORD."
Psalm 40:12 NKJV - "For innumerable evils have surrounded me; My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up; They are more than the hairs of my head; Therefore my heart fails me."
Psalm 38:3-4 NKJV - "There is no soundness in my flesh Because of Your anger, Nor any health in my bones Because of my sin. For my iniquities have gone over my head; Like a heavy burden they are too heavy for me."
Answer:
The sins and trespasses done by young David in Psalms25:7 occur in each and every one’s life. There is forgiveness for these sins and transgressions. And also, David did not leave the path of the Lord and His name in his life as in 2 Samuel 22:22-24 and 1 Kings 15:5. David grew up in God by following His commandments.
We know that David did horrible sin according to the Psalms 40:12, after he became king of the Israelites, one day he was moving on the roof of the kings’ house, and saw a woman bathing, and ravished her and made her husband to die in the battle field. These two were terrible crimes regarding David in his life. So, he was not able to look up to God at this point of his life. According to these sins and according to his sons who tried to kill him, King David fled to deserts for fear of his life. At this time, he lamented and repented in the proximity of the Lord and experienced the repentance and punishment by the Lord and got the love of the Lord again. When man falls in to the sin by his weakness, he must try to stand again by staying in the proximity of Lord. This is the firm duty of every believer.
2 Samuel 22:22-24, Psalms 18:21-23 and 1 Kings 15:5 are written when David was God fearing, and lived according to the Lord.
When David sinned and fell from highest position of the Lord, he repented for his sins. At this time, it is written according to the Psalms 25:7, Psalms 40:12, and Psalms 38:3-4.

From this, we must know that these are the two different situations, in the life of David. But, here, we must recognize that the king David got his prior position again by his repentance in the Lord.
